Miami Indian Heritage Days: Medicine Woman Drum will perform, demonstrating the importance of drumming, singing and dancing in Miami society. Sponsored by the History Center. "Fiber Arts Celebration - Salomon Farm Park". Sponsored by Fort Wayne Parks Department. 817 W. Dupont Rd. Friday and Saturday, May18 and 19. 10 am to 5 pm. Cost: Free. Free parking. Join us at Salomon Farm for a two-day celebrration of fiber arts. The focus of this festival is education through hands-on participation and demonstrations of the processes of making natural fiber products - wool dyeing, spinning, weaving and more. Vendors specializing in fiber arts will sell equipment and supplies such as spinning wheels, wooden knitting needles, looms and shuttles, and felting needles and forms. Natural fiber including wool, alpaca, silk and cotton, as well as hand-made fiber products such as sweaters, mittens, shawls and more will also be for sale. Food vendors will be on the grounds. Call Renee at 427-6005 for more information or to inquire about being a demonstrator and/or vendor at the event. Due to the nature of this event, pets are not allowed.

Old Fort Wayne, 1201 Spy Run Ave., right over the bridge going north on Spy Run Ave (extension of Lafayette). Parking: across the street off of Spy Run Avenue and Baltes Avenue, on Fourth Street between Spy run Avenue and Clinton Street, or at Headwaters park across the river from the Fort (use foot bridge).
