WHO WE ARE... The City of Fort Wayne's Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services (OHNS), within the Community Development Divison, administers the city's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) programs, each funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. OHNS is comprised of 3 departments: Housing Programs, Grants and Neighborhood Revitalization.
STATEMENTS OF STRATEGIC DIRECTION
- Create an environment for development through a targeted neighborhood development approach.
- Unify the CDBG & Home Funding processes.
- Shift OHNS role to be proactive policy maker, funder & monitor rather than direct "in-house" program manager.
- Leverage HOME & CDBG funds more effectively. Cultivate funding partners who can match City's investments.
- Allocate HOME and CDBG funds so that City-funded projects play an integral role in the economic growth and quality of life in the City of Fort Wayne.
