This is a revision to press release issued last week that closed the south curb lane only. The additional lane is needed due to field location of utilities and depth of new storm and sanitary sewer lines. While 2 lanes will remain open, motorists can still expect significant delays, especially during rush hours. The contractor, Flemming Excavating, will be responsible for placement and placement of all warning signs and barricades.

This lane closure will allow the contractor, Weigand Construction Co., the room needed to erect a crane and scaffolding to construct structures as part of the Harrison Square Project. The contractor will be responsible for placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades. Jefferson Boulevard
The Time Corners Roadway Improvement Project is scheduled to enter the next phase of construction. This will begin Tuesday, April 8, 2008 and continue for approximately 5 weeks, weather permitting. This next phase will reduce traffic to one lane for both eastbound and westbound motorists. The new entrance to the Time Corners Shopping Center will be opened with the new traffic signal operational. During this phase all outside widening, curb and gutter and driveways shall be constructed on both sides of Jefferson Boulevard. The contractor, E & B Paving Inc., will be responsible for placement and maintenance of all warning signs and barricades. Considerable congestion can be expected, for both eastbound and west bound traffic, and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes. Additional press releases will be initiated as construction progresses.
