Drinking Water Handbook Print E-mail

This handbook has been produced by Fort Wayne City Utilities to acquaint its customers with some of the measures of water quality.  Regular updates of Fort Wayne's water quality will be provided on the Water Quality Hotline through Fort Wayne Newspapers Cityline.  Information on the taste and odor index, turbidity, most recent Cryptosporidium test findings, levels of pesticides and other measures of current interest to customers will be available by calling the Hotline.  During periods of runoff when pesticide levels and taste and odor numbers may change on a daily level, the line will be updated daily.  Usually, information will be updated weekly.

More information on Cryptosporidium and persons with compromised immune systems is available from the Fort Wayne AIDS Task Force.  Their assistance in the preparation of this information, along with that of the Allen County Board of Health, the Fort Wayne Medical Society and the Environmental Working Group is gratefully acknowledged.
