Parking Enforcement Print E-mail
Parking Enforcement is a revenue-producing department that was placed under the supervision of the City Clerk in 1997. This Department is made up of the following employees: one supervisor, one installation and repair person, one assistant installation and repair person, five enforcement officers and one part-time supervisor for the VES (volunteer) Program.

This department generates revenue for the city through enforcement of applicable laws and city policies relating to vehicles parking in violation of city statutes, enforce city policies relating to residential parking and abandoned vehicle code infractions, respond to citizen complaints concerning abandoned vehicles, report illegal vehicles and other illegal activities to appropriate department, post “no parking” signs and bag meters for merchants in downtown area when needed.

VES PROGRAM
Volunteer Parking Enforcement Program for the Physically Disabled

This program was established in 1999 after an ordinance was passed by City Council and the Mayor giving the Board of Public Safety the authorization to appoint volunteers to be a part of this program and specifically limited to issuance of parking citations for  handicapped parking violations.

This program continues to help educate the public in regards to parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities.

The VES Program is under the direction of the City Clerk and under the immediate supervision of Patty Stahlhut, Parking Enforcement Supervisor.  Information regarding this program can be reached through this website or calling (260) 427-1208 or by contacting the city Human Resource Department through their website or calling (260) 427-1180.
