Per state law, street and alley vacations are accepted and paid for in the office of the City Clerk.  After the paperwork is finished in the City Clerk's office, copies are forwarded to the City Planning Department.

Fees as set by the Commission are as follows:

-           $300 fee for plat vacation

-           $200 fee for platted easement or ally right of way vacation

-           $300 fee for right of way vacation

Tort Claims

Notice of claims against the City of Fort Wayne (tort claims) are filed through the City Clerk's Office in accordance with Indiana Code 34-4-16.5.7 are available at the above address.  If you have any questions regarding this claim form please contact the City Clerk's office.

Directions for filing a claim:

This notice must be filed with the Clerk of the City of Fort Wayne within 180 days after the loss occurs.

1.      The notice may be signed by an authorized agent or attorney, if necessary, in lieu of in person.

2.      For quicker handling, please serve this Notice on the Clerk and in duplicate.

3.      THE CITY OF FORT WAYNE, INDIANA, TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER
