About the CDC
The Community Development Corporation of Northeast Indiana (CDC)  is a city-sponsored, 501 c (6) not-for-profit business development organization.  Its primary objective is to promote the growth and development of small commercial and industrial businesses in the Fort Wayne area and a nine-county area in northeast Indiana through creative business loan programs.  Since 1978, the CDC has helped over 350 Allen County businesses create over 2,100 jobs.  The CDC has now expanded the 504 Loan Program to the following nine counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley.  The CDC also recently received a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to provide loans through the Rural Development Revolving Loan Program to businesses in Northeast Indiana.

Who qualifies for CDC loans?
Both new and existing small- and medium-sized companies that are experiencing growth - but are unable to obtain conventional financing may be able to receive a CDC loan.  Loans from the CDC can be combined with a loan from a bank.   Or, in some cases, loans can be made directly to the business without a matching loan from a bank.

How the Loans Work
CDC loans can be used to finance:

Sample of CDC Approved Projects - 2003

land
building

new construction
renovations
equipment and/or
working capital

Most of the programs we operate offer a fixed interest rate for the term of the loan.  CDC funds cannot be used to refinance debt.  Loans have an application fee.  CDC loans are generally secured by fixed business assets such as real estate, equipment, inventory, and accounts receivable.  All loans require the personal guarantee of the owners.  The CDC does not finance investment real estate such as apartments or shopping centers.
