Ardmore Avenue – Taylor Street to Jefferson Boulevard
The Ardmore Avenue Reconstruction and Widening Project will support current and projected twenty year traffic needs. The project covers Ardmore Avenue from Taylor Street to Jefferson Boulevard. The goal is to improve this primary north / south arterial traffic corridor on the west side of Fort Wayne. The Project implements an ordinance passed by City Council to open this section of roadway to truck traffic by December 2007. The project also addresses and mitigates residential neighborhood concerns of noise, congestion, loss of community character and aesthetics that may develop with Corridor Expansion the changes in traffic use.
A Study is being prepared as a phase of this Project to consider a range of viable options in addition to alternatives analyzed in a Preliminary Engineer’s Report prepared earlier. Attached is the first draft report of the Study: Chapters contained in the report include:
