FLEET MANAGEMENT

About Us
Fleet Management works to maintain equipment for all areas of city government through a partnership with First Vehicle Services (FVS) that has lasted since 2000. We currently provide services to approximately 1,725 vehicles ranging from police cars to fire department and city passenger vehicles.
Below is a little bit more information about what Fleet Management does on a daily basis. We:

• Maintain maintenance facilities to OSHA standards

• Oversee repairs made on equipment & contract with First Vehicle

• Write specifications for new equipment & trucks
- • Participate in bid process
-
• Evaluate the cost of products & obtain quotes
-
• Implement preventative maintenance for vehicles & equipment
-
• Maintain records on EPA standards & comply with waste disposal
-
• Maintain records on FASTER program for labor, repair costs & parts replacement for life cycle costs
-
• Maintain records on FASTER program for utilization of vehicles & equipment
-
• Make sure equipment is not being abused
-
• Develop a long range plan for equipment & maintenance facilities
We prioritize meeting national key performance indicators for fleets regarding safety, customer satisfaction, Turn Around Time requirements, fleet availability and budget constraints. As a result, our fleet continues to meet ISO:9001:2000 Certification and OSHA standards as well as earning recognition as one of the "100 Best" Fleets in North America.
