SIGN REVIEW 

A staff member of Historic Preservation in the Strategic Planning Department is assigned to review the design of all signs proposed for the Calhoun Street Mall district. Once approved, the staff member will refer the application to the appropriate agencies for final approval. To download an application for Certificate of Approval, click   Application.

Review of Action

In reviewing the application, the Historic Preservation staff member will consider the following conditions:

• The sign's compliance to the provisions of the Calhoun Street Mall Sign and Awning Ordinance;

• The clarity and legibility of the sign's message;

• The sign's relationship with the character of the building on which it will be located; and

• The sign's relationship with adjacent structures and public spaces.
