Bike Task Force
Organizational Charge
The Bike Fort Wayne Task Force is a diverse group with specific interest in improving bicycle safety and accessibility for a variety of riders, and riding purposes, throughout the community. The task force is assembled to provide direct community input during the development of Bike Fort Wayne, a project-based plan intended to balance transportation infrastructure and complement existing bicycle facilities with bike-ways that efficiently and safely connect people to the places they want to visit by bike. The task force will assist City of Fort Wayne departmental staff in drafting the plan by discussing staff recommendations; providing insights on bicylcing issues; identifying significant barriers (physical, cultural and fiscal) to safety or accessibility, and prioritizing projects for implementation and funding. This task force will meet several times from the spring of 2009 until the objectives and strategies are finalized for the Plan.
