POSITION: A volunteer to monitor physically disabled parking spaces and issue citations when necessary.
DUTIES: Issue citations for physically disabled violations according to city ordinances.
REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be 21 years of age; 2. Must be a resident of Allen County; 3. Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License and have vehicle insurance, including the minimum of $100,000 liability coverage on any car used during volunteer services; 4. Must provide own transportation; 5. Two (2) people will be assigned to each vehicle; 6. Must complete a course of instruction concerning the enforcement and obtain a certificate of appointment upon completion; 7. Must sign and agree to the Affidavit of Understanding; 8. Must comply with guidelines in the City Policy & Procedure Manual.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Volunteer Supervisor
OBJECTIVE: Raise the awareness and sensitivity of the people of Fort Wayne to the importance of maintaining handicapped parking places for the use of the “physically disabled.”
