City of Fort Wayne Hosts T-Shirt Drive to Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's a time for reflection on trends in breast cancer research, prevention, and treatment.

The City of Fort Wayne is offering a “Together We Are Stronger Than Breast Cancer” T-shirt for $20 (plus tax), which means that after production costs, close to 50% from each shirt will be donated to Francine’s Friends Mobile Mammography!

Residents might have seen the Francine’s Friends Mobile Mammography coach parked around our city. They are a local nonprofit that provides 3D screening mammograms to those insured or uninsured, in a convenient, private setting. Early detection increases effective treatment options and the possibility of a cure. We believe it’s important that everyone who should receive a mammogram can receive a mammogram as soon as necessary.

Here are the details of our T-shirt fundraising campaign:

· Available in pink or light grey

· Assorted unisex sizes (XS – 4XL) in a soft cotton style

· Please pay with your credit card and enter the address connected to your credit card, but all shirts will be delivered to Citizens Square.

· Deadline to order shirts: October 5

On Tuesday, October 15, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 – 5:30 p.m., Mayor Sharon Tucker and her team will have a table set up on the first floor of Citizens Square where you can pick up the shirt(s) you ordered online. And on Friday, October 18, we invite you to wear your new shirt to work to paint Citizens Square pink.
