This is a forum for seniors in the community to share concerns, suggestions, and ideas as it pertains to being a senior in Fort Wayne.
Forum rules
The purpose of the City of Fort Wayne's Fencepost page is allow neighborhood presidents and residents to interact with each other and share ideas along with providing a venue for dialogue with advocates and division heads. Posts that may oppose the City's views and priorities are allowed on this page. However, specific guidelines are in place to promote a more productive dialogue and the appropriate use of this page.

Comments posted on City of Fort Wayne's Fencepost page will be removed if they:
- are unrelated to the subject matter of the original post;
- are vulgar or offensive;
- contain personal attacks of any kind;
- contain offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group;
- are spam or include links to other sites; or
- pose a public safety issue (e.g. if posted comments include personal information or refer to open police investigations, etc.)

While comments are subject to immediate removal for the above reasons, the poster may receive a response via email when a more thorough response is warranted. CITY OFFICES CLOSED MONDAY, TUESDAY FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne’s offices will be closed Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th for Christmas. The Botanical Conservatory will also be closed both days.

There will be no residential garbage and recycling pick-up on Christmas Day. The collection schedule is pushed back one day, with Tuesday’s collection on Wednesday; Wednesday’s collection on Thursday, etc. Friday collections will be done on Saturday.

The City’s parking meters will be free Monday and Tuesday.

The City will resume regular business hours on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
