The purpose of the City of Fort Wayne's Fencepost page is allow neighborhood presidents and residents to interact with each other and share ideas along with providing a venue for dialogue with advocates and division heads. Posts that may oppose the City's views and priorities are allowed on this page. However, specific guidelines are in place to promote a more productive dialogue and the appropriate use of this page.

- are spam or include links to other sites; or
- pose a public safety issue (e.g. if posted comments include personal information or refer to open police investigations, etc.)

While comments are subject to immediate removal for the above reasons, the poster may receive a response via email when a more thorough response is warranted. Please note that the comments expressed on this site may not reflect the opinions and official position of the City of Fort Wayne, its elected officials, appointees, or employees

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Mayor Tom Henry is seeking applicants for his Mayor’s Youth Engagement Council for the 2017-18 school year.

The Council’s vision is to be a service learning group comprised of youth members. The members provide a voice for the youth of Fort Wayne to local government by engaging their peers, creating innovative solutions, and working on projects. The program also includes panel discussions, guest speakers, and the opportunity to be involved in a special event.
Applications will be accepted through August 18 and are available at https://www.cityoffortwayne.org/myec.html. An applicant must be a city resident and enrolled as a sophomore-senior for the 2017-18 school year.
*All applicants must include a completed application form from the website
*Finalists must take part in an in-person interview. Interviews will take place in September.
*Space on the council is limited and is a one-year commitment

Applications may be turned in to the Mayor’s Office, Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St., 4th floor, or mailed to: Mayor’s Office, Attn: Karen L. Richards, Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry Street, 4th floor, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
