Scam emails...

Post by GalindoP » Thu Oct 26, 2017 3:26 pm

Please send this warning to all of your quadrant’s neighborhood presidents.

The Office of Attorney General warns that someone is emailing fake invoices that say they come from the state office.

Starting at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, staff members began receiving dozens of calls from people nationwide who were asking about an invoice that appeared to come from the Office of Attorney General Curtis Hill.
In awkward wording, according to a news release, the email said, “Kindly find the enclosed invoice and advice ASAP. Thank you.”
These invoices are not legitimate and should not be paid nor answered in any manner by those receiving them, the Attorney General’s office warned.

Anyone receiving these fake invoices are asked to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division to document this scam. Go to www.in.gov/attorneygeneral/2434.htm or call 1-800-382-5516.
