July 28, 2021 - From protecting our rivers and supporting our homes to using waste to generate power, the award-winning P.L Bruner Pollution Control Plant is an industry leader in treating wastewater. And, this Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 9:00-11:00 a.m., the plant will offer free tours for the entire family. Because of COVID- 19, it’s the first tour of the plant that protects our rivers in more than two years.  The last tour will start at 10:30 a.m.

Visitors will learn about how the plant generates power from waste to support more than 30 percent of the electricity needed to operate the plant, how the plant will connect to the deep rock sewer tunnel and how upgrades make it possible to treat 100 million gallons of sewage per day.

Tour attendees can park across the street at 2601 Dwenger Avenue and enter the main front door of the plant’s original building. Visitors should not wear flip-flops or sandals as the tour travels across many surfaces, including gravel.

The plant serves more than 315,000 area residents in Fort Wayne, New Haven, Leo-Cedarville, Maysville, Grabill, Zanesville, Arcola, and many homes and businesses in unincorporated areas of Allen County.
