NIPSCO has also suspended shutoffs until further notice. In addition, NIPSCO will offer its most flexible payment plans to customers who indicate either an impact or hardship as a result of COVID-19 and will suspend late payment charges until May 1. Fort Wayne City Utilities has suspended disconnects for non-payment until further notice. The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps pay a portion of winter heating bills. Brightpoint helps families in Allen, Dekalb, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley Counties. Although the offices are closed due to COVID-19 concerns, they are providing assistance through our phones, email, and website. They are still accepting EAP applications for the 2019-2020 program year.
