Job Description:

Summary
Under the direction of the Hurshtown Reservoir Supervisor, the incumbent runs the recreational facility at Hurshtown Reservoir. 

Essential duties and responsibilities 
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Opens facility, checks cash box and collects fees;
  • Rents life jackets, boats and other equipment;
  • Maintains daily attendance records;
  • Maintains daily revenue records;
  • Balances daily income records;
  • Pumps water from boats and sells seasonal passes;
  • Assists with programs;
  • Prepares equipment for rental;
  • Performs light mowing, cleans refrigerator, dumps trash, washes windows and cleans building;
  • Moves boats into proper position;
  • Attends monthly meetings (program related);
  • Prepares building for opening/closing of season. 

Marinal Functions
Performs other duties as assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities
The incumbent has no supervisory responsibility. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school graduation;
  • Training in general safety/emergency procedure;
  • Must possess general safety/emergency procedure training;
  • Must possess effective communication skills. 

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.   Problems during work causing questions about objectives and boundaries are discussed. Effective communication orally and in written form is required. 

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

Reasoning Ability
Incumbent's work consists of moderately complex, relatively standardized tasks, processes or operations. Work is performed under moderate supervision. Instructions are relatively complete. Incumbent recommends or requests deviations from general instructions when necessary. Ability to understand moderately complex, relatively standardized tasks, processes or operations; Ability to understand work processes, methods and use of equipment and machinery. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Indiana Driver's License if City of Fort Wayne vehicle is used. 

Physical Demands

Effort is exerted regularly for sustained periods. Strain may be intense for frequent or moderate duration. Effort involves moderate lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and bending. Work is performed while in an abnormal sitting or standing position. Manual dexterity is moderate.

Work requires some contact with changing conditions, some lifting or moderate labor involved. Incumbent is normally standing, walking or lifting light objects. Incumbent has occasional exposure to hazardous work conditions with a moderate amount of dust, grease, extreme temperature, noise, inadequate lighting and inclement weather.
