December 3, 2015 - Riverfront Fort Wayne has named Alison Gerardot the Riverfront Fort Wayne Programming and Events Manager. Gerardot is a contract employee charged with creating and managing events along the downtown riverfront. She reports to a Riverfront Fort Wayne Implementation Committee led by the City of Fort Wayne.

“We visited and talked with people in other communities that have undertaken riverfront development,” said Pam Holocher, deputy director of Community Development. “We learned that programming is critical to generating support and enthusiasm for riverfront development; residents need reasons to visit the riverfront and see its beauty and value.”

Gerardot comes to Riverfront Fort Wayne from the Fort Wayne Dance Collective, where she acted as the Outreach Director, overseeing all off-site programming, community relationships and fundraising. While there, she helped create and develop the Parkview Health Healing Arts Program, produced many events, and doubled the amount of students served through Fort Wayne Community Schools and programs serving people with disabilities.

“I’m honored to serve the community through this exciting initiative,” said Gerardot. “I look forward to developing programs and events that include something for everyone and that will inspire continued excitement for downtown Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana.”
