October 17, 2018 - The Alliance of Indiana Rural Water says Fort Wayne City Utilities has the best tasting water in the State.  Earlier today, judges evaluated the water from utilities that won regional taste competitions earlier in the year, and selected Fort Wayne as the winner of the ‘Best Tasting Water in Indiana.’

Winning this honor will now enter Fort Wayne City Utilities’ water into the “Great American Water Taste Test” national competition in Washington DC in February of 2019.

In bestowing the top honor, judges recognized Fort Wayne’s water as clean, pure and refreshing. “I really liked the flavor of it.  It was crisp and clean,” said Don Van Veldhuizen, taste-test judge from the water and wastewater company, USABlueBook.

“We are pleased to receive this recognition, and we thank the men and women of our Three Rivers Water Filtration Plant for their dedication to producing clean, high quality, good tasting water for our customers every day of the year,” said Kumar Menon, Director of Fort Wayne City Utilities.

Each entry was scored in three categories: clarity, odor, and taste. The competition is part of the Quality On Tap! campaign to emphasize the importance of providing residents of Indiana with high quality water that meets regulatory standards, and tastes great.
