December 18, 2018 - Progress continues on the major $12.1 million overhaul of Dupont Road. This week motorists will notice improved traffic flow.

Latest updates:

  • Intermediate asphalt is complete and two eastbound lanes of traffic will open the afternoon of December 19
  • Traffic signal goes live the afternoon of December 19, at the intersection of La Cabreah Lane/Dawson’s Creek Boulevard and Dupont Road
  • Two lanes for westbound traffic will open December 22 with intermediate asphalt in place
  • New water main is now connected to area homes and businesses

Intermediate asphalt is the sub-surface that will be in place through the winter until the final paving occurs next year.

The improvements to Dupont will enhance safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians between Lima Road and Coldwater Road. Enhancements include expanding the road to four lanes,  a turn lane, a sidewalk on the north side of the road and a trail on the south side of the road. An underpass for the Pufferbelly Trail will connect the Pufferbelly Trail from Salomon Farm Park to the existing trail north of Dupont Road.

Up to 25,000 vehicles use this stretch of road each day.

The two-year long Dupont project will complete lighting, landscaping, trail, sidewalk, and road work by June of 2019.
