STATEMENT FROM MAYOR HENRY ON MYANMAR

February 11, 2021 - I continue to be concerned about the situation in Myanmar. The recent coup by the military there is a sad and dangerous situation.

Fort Wayne is home to one of the largest Burmese populations in the United States. They have become our friends, neighbors, and productive residents in our community. I grieve with them over the current events in their home country.

I stand with those who are committed to ensuring democracy returns to Myanmar. My hope is that democracy will prevail as we continue to support our local Burmese population.
