January 15, 2021 - For the 18th year in a row, the City Utilities' Water Pollution Control Plant received the Indiana Water Environmental Association (IWEA) Award for Laboratory Excellence.

The award recognizes the plant lab's quality management and the collection and management of the essential testing data required to meet National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit regulations and monitor the sewage treatment process to operate at the best and highest standards at the sewage treatment plant.   Team members include analytical chemists Pat Kohn, Andy Riley and Spencer Roscow.

IWEA examines the accuracy of the data and inspects the lab in its assessment of award recipients. The award is for the year 2020.

Located at 2601 Dwenger Avenue, the plant can treat up to 100 million gallons of sewage per day.
