July 22, 2024 - The City of Fort Wayne invites the public to attend a public open-house for the North Clinton Street Improvements Project. The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31 at the Dupont Branch Library, 536 E Dupont Rd.
The need for the North Clinton Street Improvements project is evident based on anticipated increase in traffic volumes and resulting congestion. An additional need for the project is lack of connectivity of pedestrian facilities along North Clinton Street. The purpose of the project is to provide a roadway that can effectively accommodate future traffic volumes and operate at an acceptable level of service during the design year of 2048, and to increase connectivity of pedestrian facilities.
The scope of the project is not fully defined at this time but may include widening Clinton Street throughout the project corridor as well as the addition of new pedestrian facilities. The purpose of the public information meeting is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to learn about the project location, anticipated schedule, and provide comments prior to advancement of the project.
This is a federally funded project (Des. Nos. 1901703 (Lead), 2300719, 2300720, and 2300721) with the Indiana Department of Transportation that has cost sharing of 80/20 with the City of Fort Wayne. The project is planned to be constructed in three phases (one of the three funded by Allen County) and the two City phases bid through INDOT in 2028 and 2030.
