MAYSVILLE-LANDIN-TRIER ROAD ROUNDABOUT

Description: Construction of a Roundabout at the intersection of Maysville Road, Trier Road and Landin Road. The purpose of the project is to improve safety, improve traffic flow, enhance lighting and make sidewalks more walkable.

UPDATES:

Sept. 25, 2017 -- Ribbon-cutting ceremony held, featuring Mayor Henry and New Haven Mayor McDonald. All road work is completed.

Sept. 1, 2017 -- Asphalt , landscaping, and signs will be completed today. 

Aug. 29. 2017 --  Asphalt work is 90% completed.  Landscaping the middle is 50 percent completed. All other work has been completed.

Mid-August -- Surface & striping expected to be completed by  the week of Aug. 14

July 21, 2017 -- All the base and intermediate asphalt has been laid. And, Shambaugh has the lights up and on.

June 26, 2017 --  Contractor Shambaugh poured last light base.

June 24, 2017 -- Contractor E&B laid base.

Week of June 12 - 17, 2017 -- Curb and sidewalk is about 90% completed and the asphalt work is about 25% completed. Contractor E & B plans to finish pouring the center Island this week.

May 26, 2017 - E&B's concrete crew was on site today pouring the remaining 150 total feet of sidewalk along the east side of Landin, beginning at existing curb-face walk. They also poured all of the curb turn-outs on for the project.

May 25, 2017 - E&B had a crew on site for a few hours this morning cleaning up their equipment and preparing the concrete center curb for the curb ramp island on Trier and Maysville, south of the intersection, to be poured at a later time.

E&B also had a worker on site pumping water off of the sub-base that is prepared for asphalt on the northeast bound lane of Maysville, north of the intersection.

Shambaugh was on site today auguring, setting sonitube, and pouring lightpole bases at the northwest corner of the intersection (Trier and Maysville) and on the southwest side of Trier.

May 24, 2017 -- Fox was on site today back-filling the areas between the curb and the new sidewalk, along the west side of Landin.

May 23, 2017 - E&B's concrete crew poured concrete for about 350' of 4" sidewalk along the east side of Landin.

Fox was on site today undercutting the poor soil at the south-east corner of Maysville and Landin. Once the poor soil was removed they placed geogrid over the soil, spread and compacted 12" of #2 stone, and spread and compacted 6" of #53 stone to complete the soil remediation.

Shambaugh was on site today preparing, and pouring, light pole bases on both sides of Maysville, south of the intersection.

Week of May 22, 2017 -- Contractor E&B is working on getting as much sidewalk poured as they can along Landin Road -- both west and east sides; they are also going to pour the curb turn-outs for the project early this week.

E&B is planning on paving both the base and binder courses for the new, northeast-bound, asphalt lane of Maysville Road, north of the intersection, later this week, depending on weather. 

Subcontractor Fox will be on site throughout the week back-filling areas behind the new curb with clay. 

Shambaugh & Sons will be on site throughout the week digging for, setting up, and pouring light pole bases for phase 1 of the project. 

May 17-18, 2017 -- Thunderstorms and rain may delay construction work.


April 28, 2017 -- Contractor Fox still cutting, found more areas to under cut

April 21, 2017 -- Contractor Fox still cutting dirt. Job site trail shows up.

April 20, 2017 -- Contractor closed Trier and Maysville roads.

April 14, 2017 -- E&B Put Temporary road way in to enable traffic maintenance.

April 7, 2017 -- Contractor Fox began Fox cutting for temporary road.

March 29, 2017 -- Contractor Fox began Fox stripping top soil and hauling in clay
