PROJECT UPDATES

July 19, 2019 Garcia is continuing to form Fawn Dr today and getting it ready to pour Monday and Tuesday. The removal crew has moved over to the last stretch in the addition on Stag and will start removing Monday morning. This, however, will all depend if the concrete passes and they can open up a section that was closed. For those people who have new grass growing and weeds are starting to take over, please cut the weeds and grass. Cutting it will promote new grass to germinate and crowd out the weeds, watering will help also
July 10, 2019 Crews should be done removing on Stag by mid week and will move over to remove a few random slabs on Caribou. They will then work their way down Buckskin and around on Fawn. The concrete crew should be forming and pouring on Stag when the other crew leaves.
July 3, 2019 Work has begun on the removal of Stag Dr from Buckskin to halfway. The crews should be continuing to work on this section possibly through the middle of next week. After that they should be moving onto Fawn Dr. to start removing the other half of that section. Concrete crews will be following the demolition crews and forming and pouring the sections that have been removed. Buckskin should now be fully poured, and they will finish Deer Trail and move over to Stag. Please remember to not move barricades or caution tape. I know parking will be tight with people over for the holiday, but we are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Have a safe 4th of July.
June 27, 2019 Crews will be still removing and grading on Buckskin and Deer trail for this week. Hopefully the concrete crew will be in to start forming up Reindeer, Buckskin and possibly Deer Trail on Friday. Next week they will continue working on this section and pour concrete while the removal crew will be heading to remove half of Stag Dr., similar to what was done on the other side.
June 21, 2019
Garcia will be continuing to work along Buckskin from Deer Tr. to Reindeer. If weather permits they should be pouring concrete early next week in that area. Note to all-Buckskin from Deer Trail to Reindeer was made a one way towards the south (towards Reindeer) for everyone's safety and ease of traffic flow.
Several people have inquired about the two structures on Reindeer that are full of water. These are being handled now by City Utilities. They are currently in conversations with the adjacent homeowners about acquiring an easement to connect those new structures with the storm system behind the houses. This work will be scheduled as soon as that gets finalized.
June 14, 2019 Crews were working today on pouring concrete on Stag and Fawn Dr. Next week they should finishing the east side of Fawn. The removal crew will start removal on Buckskin from Reindeer to Deer Tr. on the East side. This should continue most of the week and will wrap to include the remainder Reindeer and Deer Tr. Garcia also got approved for a four week extension to this project. New completion date will be July 30, 2019.
June 10, 2019

*QUICK UPDATE*
Stag Dr will be closed to incoming traffic off of Illinois Road while Garcia is removing the remainder of the east side, and also while they prep and pour concrete. Stag will then be open to traffic each evening or when they are not working, but only as a one-way street off of Illinois into the addition.

This is to prevent back-ups and accidents. Please be aware of this and patient while they continue their construction. Thank you!

May 29, 2019 Crews will be continuing to work on the area of Buckskin from Reindeer south to the end of the addition, and to the east on Reindeer. They will be getting ready to pour concrete on that section soon. Removal crew will then go to the north part of Buckskin and head on the north east side around to Fawn and remove the east side of Fawn. They will also remove the sections on the north/east side of Reindeer
May 24, 2019 For the rest of today the crews will be pouring concrete on Stag, cleaning up areas they removed on Caribou, and finishing up under drain and cleaning the open area on Buckskin and Reindeer. This may also go into Saturday for a few hours. Next week they will start removal on Buckskin from Caribou to Fawn Dr., and continue on the west side of Fawn to the end of the cul de sac. While this removal is going on, crews will be pouring concrete in the open areas on Caribou and the other end of Buckskin. No work will be happening Monday for the Holiday.
May 14, 2019

Crews will be finishing up on the south/west side of Stag today. They will be starting to remove at the very south end of  Buckskin, up to Reindeeer and go east on to the addition line. Depending on concrete breaks and weather, after that they should be removing on the east side of Caribou from Illinois to Buckskin, heading east on Buckskin and removing  the west side of Fawn. They may also get a few of the patches down on the south part of Caribou. The concrete crew should be finishing up on Deer Trail, and heading around on Buckskin up to Stag and down Stag. Also filling in the patches on Reindeer if they can get the water pumped out and kept out. Hopefully the weather will be cooperating more with us, and things will move along.

May 8, 2019 Garcia will be continuing to pour concrete on the south/west side of Reindeer probably until early next week. Then the concrete crew should be moving over to what has been stoned on Deer Trail and Buckskin to start forming that and prepping it for concrete. Concrete removal shall be continuing on Buckskin up to Stag Dr and then head part way down Stag on the east side. For the residents on Deer Trail and Stag, I know parking is at a premium as Garcia gets into these areas, so please help out your neighbors if you can, by letting them utilize any driveway space that you can.
May 2, 2019 Friday 5/3/19, during the Garage Sale, crews will be pouring the section of street on Buckskin from Yearling to Reindeer. They should be starting early and finishing by noonish. There will be congestion in that area during the actual pouring because of the trucks blocking the lanes. After that is complete, the road shall be passable but maybe with slight delays for the workers to finish the concrete. Nothing else will be removed until Monday.
April 30, 2019 Crews have removed the south/west lane of Reindeer and are going to remove the north side of Deer Tr. As they turn out of Deer Tr. they will head north to Stag while removing the opposite side of Buckskin and the east side of Stage to SR 14. We realize it can be frustrating to wait on the concrete to go through its 7 day cure time, and everyone wants to get into their driveways as soon as possible but it's important to allow the concrete to cure. We are aware of residents that have been crossing across the barricaded pavement before it has been officially opened; please be aware that removing barricades and tape can be punishable by fines and penalties.
April 16, 2019 Crews have removed the south/west side of Buckskin. While they are waiting to get this formed and poured, removal will begin on the north side of Yearling starting 4/17/19.
April 12, 2019

Important Update from the Project Manager:

Crews are removing and pouring on Buckskin from Reindeer to the North on the west side until they reach Caribou.

There will be a section that will be poured Monday morning (4/15/19). Please keep in mind that the lanes will be blocked for periods of time.

The crews will be aware you are there, but it may not be possible for them to move until they are at a good stopping point. When pouring concrete this is especially important. They only have so much time to get the concrete out of the truck, and it is easier to pour out each truck in one passing.

Please familiarize yourself with the alternate routes available in your addition, and utilitze those if at all possible.

Also, there have been concerns that some of the crew members are being impolite by not speaking to the residents. Please be assured that this is not because they are ill-mannered. The project representatives want to ensure that the residents receive the most up to date and accurate information possible. To avoid any unintentional miscommunication, the crews have been instructed to refer any inquiries to the project foreman on location or to the project manager.

If you have a question, please talk to a foreman out on the job, or call the project manager. We will assist where we can and appreciate those that have let us know of issues. We understand this is a hassle for everyone and we want to get out of your way as soon as we can.

April 5, 2019

Crews are getting the open areas on Yearling's south side and around the corner on the west side of Buckskin prepped for concrete on Monday.

Working on a section on the west side of Buckskin from Reindeer to the north. Work should continue on this section as the weather cooperates.

Putting underdrain in the section and will be getting that prepped for concrete

ALSO:
If anyone has issues getting to their house, mail, any concerns at all, please feel free to call the Project Manager to make her aware of these issues.

We will do what we can to accommodate the residents, but we cannot, if we are not aware. We are asking that all traffic on Buckskin be local traffic only and residents.

Please be patient while we are on this long, busy stretch, and possibly plan on taking another route if possible.

PLEASE DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES

Newly poured concrete needs 7 days to cure. Do NOT move barricades and drive over concrete that is curing. It can damage the concrete, reduce the pavement’s life  -- causing it to crumble within months. Please be vigilant and stop people from moving barricades.

Parking: Residents may not have access to their driveway while work is being done on the section of their street. Please park away from construction and DO NOT block traffic lanes.

Trash & Recycling Collection: The night before collection day, residents should place their garbage and recycling containers near the curb, away from the barricades of construction zones for collection – which may be across the street or at the end of the cul-de-sac.

If garbage collection trucks are not able to get to your street, due to construction work, they will try to collect the next day, before construction begins in the morning. For more information, call 311.

Neighborhood Engagement: Public Works staff members have been meeting with neighborhood associations to give residents the opportunity to view work zones, meet the contractors and ask questions about work being done in their neighborhoods. For questions or concerns, you may reach the Division of Public Works by calling 311 or 427-8311.
