Pettit Avenue Closure

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday June 28, 2017, Pettit Avenue will be closed to all traffic between Hoagland Avenue and McClellan Street.  This closure will allow crews to work on the gas line.  Nipsco will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed the same day.  Nipsco will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.     For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 260-427-1172.

Brooklyn Avenue Lane Restrictions

Please be advised beginning Wednesday June 28, 2017 there will be intermittent lane restrictions along Brooklyn Avenue from Taylor Street to Bluffton Road.  This restriction will allow Hire Construction to pothole existing utilities. Weather permitting it will be completed Wednesday July 19, 2017.  Hire will be doing the work and will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Trier Road Lane Restriction

Please be advised that beginning Tuesday June 27, 2017, Trier Road will have lane restrictions between Westlane Road and Hedwig Drive.  This restriction will allow crews to work on the gas line.  Nipsco will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed the same day.  Nipsco will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 260-427-1172.

Jefferson Boulevard Lane Restrictions

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 26, 2017 there will be lane restrictions along Jefferson Boulevard in downtown Fort Wayne between Ewing Street and Barr Street.  This restriction will be for both Key Concrete to perform sidewalk concrete work at the Grand Wayne Center and The Robert Henry Corporation to make asphalt repairs. There will be additional lane restrictions in downtown along Calhoun Street, Clinton Street, and Barr Street while crews make asphalt repairs.  Contractors will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zones.  The lane restrictions are scheduled to be completed on Tuesday June 27, 2017, weather permitting.

VanBuren Street Closure

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 26, 2017 VanBuren Street will be closed to through traffic at the railroad tracks between Superior Street and Main Street for track maintenance. This restriction will allow N&S crews to make track repairs for the crossing.  N&S Railroad will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed on July 6, 2017.  N&S Railroad will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. Main Street Lane Restriction 

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 12, 2017 there will be lane restrictions on Main Street between Barr Street and Calhoun Street in downtown Fort Wayne.  This restriction is needed to allow for renovations and repairs to the Rousseau Centre.  CME Corporation will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by August 11, 2017.  CME Corporation will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Clinton Street Lane Restrictions - Revised

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 12, 2017 there will be a multiple lane restriction between Main Street and Berry Street in downtown Fort Wayne.  These restrictions are a part of the underground power line upgrades for AEP. Restrictions will alternate from the east side to the west side as work progresses.  The Robert Henry Corp. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating this phase of work to be completed on June 28, 2017Robert Henry Corp. will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Berry Street Lane Restrictions - Revised

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 12, 2017 there will be lane restrictions along Berry Street between Barr Street and Calhoun Street in downtown Fort Wayne.  This restriction will be a part of the AEP’s Underground Network Reconstruction Project, North Phase.  The Robert Henry Corp. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work in this Barr Street area will be completed on Friday June 30, 2017.  The Robert Henry Corp. will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

 

Crescent Avenue Closure

Please be advised that beginning Monday June 5, 2017 Crescent Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Nevada Avenue and Vermont Avenue.  This closure is part of a City Utilities sewer separation project.  Ironclad Excavating will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed by June 23, 2017.  Ironclad will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  There will be a marked detour using State Blvd, Anthony Blvd, and Lake Avenue.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact City Utilities Engineering at 427-2705.

Improvements Coming to Hobson Road - Revised

Lane Restrictions Begin Thursday

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Hobson Road rehabilitation and improvement project begins this week between East State Boulevard and Coliseum Boulevard.  The project is designed to enhance safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.  To accommodate construction there will be lane restrictions on Hobson between State and Coliseum beginning Thursday, May 18, 2017.  The inside lane in both directions will be closed beginning Thursday. The outside lanes in each direction will be open to traffic.  These lane restrictions are expected to last through the first week of July.  Motorists should expect lane restrictions throughout the project that will be completed in November of this year. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.  Besides repair to the concrete roadway, the project adds greenspace for storm drainage, expands park strips to buffer sidewalks, adds bike lanes in each direction, and creates a designated center turn lane.  Contractor, Primco Inc. expects the full project to be completed by November of this year.  Hobson Road carries approximately 9,000 vehicles per day.

This project is part of the $25 million being invested in 2017 transportation infrastructure projects that will enhance mobility, improve safety and strengthen neighborhoods.

North Clinton Street Lane Restrictions - Update

Please be advised that beginning Sunday April 30, 2017 the lane restrictions along North Clinton Street between Washington Center Road and Jacobs Creek Run will be switching to the next phase.  This restriction will allow contractor, Primco, Inc. to pave the outside lanes as a part of a City Transportation improvement contract. The inside left lanes will be open to traffic. A single lane in each direction will be maintained throughout the work zone. This is the second phase of work planned along this corridor. The planned completion for the project is July 31, 2017.  Primco, Inc. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating this phase of work will remain until May 12, 2017.  Primco, Inc. will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Coldwater Road improvement project

On Monday, May 1, crews will begin placing signage with lane closures expected by Wednesday on the outside lanes (closest to the curbs) in both directions.  With approximately 27,000 vehicles using Coldwater Road each day the lane restrictions will cause travel delays.  Motorists should plan accordingly.  Brooks Construction is performing the work which is scheduled for completion in November of this year.  The improvements on Coldwater will go from Coliseum Boulevard to Washington Center Road.  The first phase of the project is between Coliseum and Essex Lane.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Transportation Department at 427-1172.


Laverne Avenue Closure - Revised

Please be advised that beginning Monday April 10, 2017 Laverne Avenue will be closed to through traffic south of E State Boulevard to Nevada Avenue.  This closure will be a part of a City Utilities Engineering project.  Dunigan Brothers Inc. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating work will be completed on July 15, 2017.  Dunigan Brothers will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. Fairfield Avenue Closure - REVISED

Please be advised that beginning Friday April 7, 2017 Fairfield Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Jefferson Boulevard and Wayne Street.  Fairfield Avenue will remain open to local traffic and businesses with restrictions.  This closure will be for the first phase of the City’s concrete street and sidewalk improvement project between Jefferson Boulevard and Main Street.  Hipskind Concrete will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating this phase of work will be completed on July 1, 2017.  Hipskind Concrete will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. There will be a marked detour for Fairfield Avenue using Main Street, Ewing Street and Jefferson Boulevard or Washington Boulevard.  For further information or for problems that may develop contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 427-1172.

Maysville Road and Trier Road Closure - Revised

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday April 19, 2017 Maysville Road and Trier Road will be closed to through traffic at the intersection with Landin Road. North bound traffic on Landin Road will be able to continue north onto Maysville Road. South bound traffic on Maysville Road will be able to continue south onto Landin Road.  This closure will allow for roundabout construction for the City’s Maysville, Landin, and Trier Intersection Improvement Project.  E&B Paving Inc. will be doing the work and weather permitting is anticipating this work will be completed on October 1, 2017.  E&B will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone.
