For the eighth year in a row the City of Fort Wayne Greenways & Trails Department, along with Fort Wayne Trails Inc., is sponsoring the popular community bike rides, Trek the Trails.
These free guided community bike rides, begin at 6:00 p.m. and are between 7 and 9 miles in length.
Adults should accompany children and all riders are encouraged to wear helmets.
Mayor Tom Henry started the rides as a way for residents to explore parts of the trail that they may not be familiar with and to create social opportunities for families and friends to venture in a guided tour. Since the first ride in 2010 more than 9,000 riders have participated.
Trek the Trails will take bicyclists through all parts of the community – including jaunts on new trails that were recently completed.
