February 19, 2021 - Mayor Tom Henry and Police Chief Steve Reed today announced the City Administration will request the purchase of additional body cameras for Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) officers.

For the 2021 budget, 100 body cameras were approved. It was an investment of $316,560. Now, Mayor Henry and the FWPD are seeking the purchase of an additional 220 body cameras for a total of 320. The additional cameras would be an investment of $599,415. Of the $999,073 total for 320 body cameras, $83,098 will be paid for with a grant received by the FWPD.

If you are a City of Fort Wayne employee that has been declared a CONFIRMED positive COVID19 case, and has been to work within 7 days prior of testing positive, please complete the COVID-19 EMPLOYER CONTACT TRACING FORM. This form will be forwarded to Risk Management and they will work with Department Management to assist the Allen County Department of Health in contact tracing efforts.
