City Utilities is hiring a contractor to replace deteriorating water mains on several streets in the Frances Slocum Neighborhood. Main replacement work will be done on portions of Glenwood Avenue, Kenwood Avenue, Curdes Avenue, Clara Avenue and Dodge Avenue east of Hobson Road. Water mains in this area were originally installed as long ago as 1925 and have outlived their useful life. The majority of the installation will be done using horizontal directional drilling. Work is expected to begin in June 2018.
