Unwanted Medication

Why does medication disposal matter?

Proper disposal of unused prescription and over-the-counter medicines is essential for preventing pollution and keeping these drugs out of the environment. Proper disposal also prevents illegal use or theft and helps avoid accidental poisoning if children or pets swallow medicines that have been put in the trash.

The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have information available to help you do the right thing when getting rid of unwanted medications. pdfSee what the FDA has to say about unwanted medication disposal.
