Ten years ago it was not a guarantee we would have had the funds to treat animals suffering with illnesses as simple as heartworms with the end result being that we felt to be an avoidable loss of life. Today thousands of animals come into our shelter in need of life saving medical care and because of donor dollars to our Angel Fund, we are able to provide those services thanks to our community who donates.

Read to the Animals 13+ 

Registration will open one at NOON one week prior to reading session. 

 

Calling all animal lovers and book lovers! We are excited to offer this program to ages 13 and up to come and read to cats and small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs waiting on their forever homes.

  • Readers must be  registered to attend 
  • Each reader can be registered for one 30 minute time slot per session
  • Each reading session is limited to 4 readers per session
  • 5 sessions available starting at 3:30 
  • Registration is a $5 donation that goes towards funding our donation based Humane Education programs.

Pawlentines Day

 

Pawlentines Day Register Icon 
Spend the evening of love with your family, friends, or loved ones ith the animals of Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control! Our Humane Education team has put this event together for people ages 18 and up, where participants will receive the opportunity to learn about Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, tour the shelter, make enrichment treats for the animals, and meet/socialize with adoptable animals! 

  • Registration is a $25 donation per person or $40 per couple, this will go towards the funding of our donation-based Humane Education programs. 
  • Pawlentines Day will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the shelter 3020 Hillegas Rd from                6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
