May 8, 2024 - The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division plans to utilize American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds to resurface streets that fall within qualified census tracts.
Under section 42(d)(5)(C) of the U.S. Code, a Qualified Census Tract is any census tract (or equivalent geographic area defined by the Bureau of the Census) in which at least 50% of households have an income less than 60% of the Area Median Gross Income.

These projects range from new landscaping in common areas to replacing neighborhood signage.

April 29, 2024 - BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, is prompting a national call for adoption once again this spring with its “Empty the Shelters” reduced-fee adoption event May 1 – 15. Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control will participate along with more than 380 shelters in 43 states. To help deserving shelter pets find loving homes, BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsors reduced adoption fees of $50 or less per cat or dog during each nationwide event.
