January 27, 2014 - For safety reasons, Republic Services will not collect garbage and recycling in the City of Fort Wayne on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Temperatures are expected to plunge to 15 degrees below zero overnight and with a wind chill of more than 30 below the conditions are not safe for workers that often have to work outside of the collection trucks.
Garbage and recycling collection will run one day behind for the rest of the week.
Tuesday collection will be Wednesday, Jan. 29
Wednesday collection will be Thursday, Jan. 30
Thursday collection will be Friday, Jan. 31
Friday collection will be Saturday, Feb. 1
