March 16, 2023 - Mayor Tom Henry joined representatives from Fort Wayne UNITED to celebrate the fourth anniversary of Fort Wayne UNITED’s Ten Point Coalition as they announced that crime decreased significantly in the Oxford Community from 2018 to 2022.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following crime statistics for the Oxford Community:

“I continue to be impressed by the efforts of the Ten Point Coalition,” said Mayor Henry. “The coalition engages, promotes peace, and connects residents with needed services. One of the most tangible outcomes of this initiative has been the decrease in crime and increase of hope in the neighborhood.”
Fort Wayne UNITED’s Ten Point Coalition is a boots-on-the-ground approach to improving neighborhood safety, pride and overall health through direct neighborhood engagement, promotion of peace and connecting residents to life changing resources.
Fort Wayne UNITED is a Mayoral initiative from Mayor Tom Henry that places two national efforts, Cities United and My Brother's Keeper, under one umbrella. It is designed to answer the call to enhance opportunities, advance youth advocacy and help create a safer city for all, but more specifically for black men and boys. By bringing together a group of passionate and committed leaders, the initiative educates, informs and engages the community in an effort to make positive change one neighborhood at a time.
