June 29, 2023 - The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division today announced that the closure of the East State Boulevard and Maplecrest Road intersection that was supposed to begin on July 5 will not happen.
Due to complexities of the work involved and traffic flow concerns, the work at the intersection will occur in 2024 with modifications that will allow for the intersection to remain open during the work.
The East State Boulevard concrete rehabilitation improvement project from Reed to Maplecrest roads started earlier this year and continues.
This year, the City is investing a record $48.3 million in neighborhood infrastructure improvements.
