December 18, 2023 - The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Art Commission is seeking a local artist to appoint to the Public Art Commission. The Public Art Commission is a 13-member body that oversees the City’s Public Art Program. To qualify for appointment, the individual must be an actively practicing artist or design professional and a resident of the City of Fort Wayne. The Commission meets bi-monthly, and the appointment term is four (4) years.

Artists interested in this volunteer position should complete a Statement of Interest Form on the Public Art Program website at www.FortWaynePublicArt.com.

The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2024. 

“We are seeking a local artist or designer who will contribute their expertise to the Public Art Commission,” said Lynette Scott, Chairwoman of the Public Art Commission. “If you are a practicing artist or design professional and a city resident, we encourage you to apply.”

Mayor Tom Henry and Fort Wayne City Council created the Public Art Program and Public Art Commission in March 2018. The primary purpose of the Public Art Program is to enliven and enhance the city through the promotion and integration of artworks into the public realm and assist with city-led beautification efforts.
