April 8, 2024 - The City of Fort Wayne today provided information on parking options for individuals planning to attend the visitation and funeral for the late Mayor Tom Henry.

Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Allen County Courthouse. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with calling one hour prior at 9 a.m.

The following parking garages downtown will be free for guests on the following dates and times:
Plaza Garage attached to the Rousseau Centre: 1-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday
Civic Center Garage attached to the Grand Wayne Center: 1-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday
Harrison Square Garage attached to Parkview Field: 1-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday
Skyline Garage along Berry and Wayne streets: 1-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday
Additional parking will be available for free at the former Rescue Mission parking lot on Superior Street: 1-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday

Motorists won’t be ticketed for parking in the Citizens Square parking lot and at on-street parking locations around the Courthouse and Cathedral during the dates and times outlined above to match the parking garages being open and free.

In addition, guests to the visitation should know that cell phones will be permitted but it’s requested that phones be silenced and no photos should be taken.

Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution, slow down, be courteous, and be aware of extra vehicular and foot traffic in the downtown area Wednesday-Friday.
