Residents still have a few more days to provide input on design proposals for the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge. The City'€™s website, www.cityoffortwayne.org, provides residents with a chance to vote for their favorite option. The poll will remain posted on the website through Monday, August 7.

Last month, City leaders held an open house to gather public input on proposals to redesign the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge on Clinton Streetnear Headwaters Park.

The Downtown Blueprint plan originally identified the bridge project. A committee of community leaders has selected two options they feel best represent how the bridge could serve as a new signature gateway to downtown.

The City is partnering with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) on the scheduled replacement of the bridge. Actual construction will not begin for several more years.
