The Public Technology Institute has selected Fort Wayne Mayor Graham Richard as the recipient of the 2005/2006 PTI Technology Leadership Award. Mayor Richard will receive the award at the PTI 2006 Congress for Technology Leadership April 30-May 2 in Chicago, Ill.

“Whether it is creating a citywide fiber optic network to connect homes and businesses, or for his role in establishing the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center that encourages start-up technology companies to establish a presence in Fort Wayne, Mayor Richard understands the tremendous impact technology plays within the community,” said Dr. Alan Shark, Executive Director of PTI.

Fort Wayne is a leader in fiber-to-the-premises and innovative government,” said Mayor Richard. “We are pleased Fort Wayne is being recognized for efforts designed to improve services. Our technology advances help us attract and retain businesses and jobs.”
