February 16, 2024 - United Response, which offers financial assistance to families who have lost a loved one to homicide, has helped five families already this year.

That’s two less than the number of families assisted all of last year, according to information the city of Fort Wayne provided Friday.

Allen County has already had six homicides this year, based on rulings from the local coroner’s office. Last year, the county had 31.

July 20, 2023 - Mayor Tom Henry today announced that he will partner with a number of African American pastors to launch a new group called the Ubuntu Collaborative. Ubuntu means “I am because we are,” and the hope of the newly developed group is to reignite the rich history of advocacy and collective impact that was present in the generations of unified African American pastors that came before. Also, the goal is to further engage and serve the African American community by uniting the strengths, talents and passions of all of the pastors who will be a part of the Ubuntu Collaborative. Mayor Henry will host quarterly meetings with the pastors with the intent of combining the collective wisdom and diverse resources of the pastors along with the resources of the City of Fort Wayne to effectively address the various needs and challenges that exist within our community.

May 30, 2023 - The Fort Wayne UNITED Late Night Basketball Initiative will continue during the months of June and August. Late Night Basketball is held at the Renaissance Pointe YMCA, 2323 Bowser Ave.
In person registration, health screenings and team sign up begin at 7:00 p.m. with games being played from 8:00 -11:00 p.m. each Saturday evening on the following dates:

March 16, 2023 - Mayor Tom Henry joined representatives from Fort Wayne UNITED to celebrate the fourth anniversary of Fort Wayne UNITED’s Ten Point Coalition as they announced that crime decreased significantly in the Oxford Community from 2018 to 2022.
